Attorney Rachel W. Melton has been selected as the attorney advocate for children in DSS custody in Pasquotank and Camden Counties.
This position is called the "Guardian ad Litem Attorney Advocate."
In the State of North Carolina, Guardian ad Litems ("GALs") are trained volunteers who are appointed by a District Court Judge to investigate and determine the needs of abused and neglected children. The GAL then works alongside the GAL Attorney Advocate to provide a team representation to the children.
